While stealing all my favorite blues, your eyes reflect nostalgic hues.
And yet the moment stands so still, our past keeps dropping subtle clues
to why it ends with me and you.

of an alley foaming
with effortless doubt. it echoed the song
of healthy lungs;
yet all she heard was
“love me, love me”
claimed by no one,
she was hatched - a gift wrapped in milk
from her mother’s guilt. her eyes as dark as blessed
soil, blossoming tears like
weeds in spring.
